Supporting Educators at BALA: Want an Update?

We’re excited to share the next chapter in Supporting Educators—an in-person professional development session with the teachers who bring this program to life.

Back in our previous last article, we shared how the Boys Academic Leadership Academy (BALA) took a bold step toward inspiring young aviators by implementing STEMPILOT’s After School Aviation Lab. This innovative program is designed to spark curiosity, teach foundational STEM skills, and introduce students to real-world aviation concepts after the final school bell rings.

Hands-On Training for Maximum Impact: Supporting Educators in Action

This week, STEMPILOT visited BALA for an on-site professional development session with their teaching team. Our focus was Supporting Educators so they feel confident and equipped to lead the After School Aviation Lab curriculum effectively.

During the training, we:

  • Walked through each module of the curriculum to highlight lesson objectives and classroom setup tips.
  • Provided hands-on practice with the aviation lab’s flight simulators, showing teachers how to integrate them into lessons.
