22 Apr Taking Flight with STEM: A Hands-On Demo at the Academy of Information Technology & Engineering
This week, we had the pleasure of visiting the Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (AITE) for a hands-on demo with Principal Tina Rivera and the Head of their Aerospace Program. Together, we explored how STEMPILOT brings flight and STEM learning to life through immersive, aviation-based experiences.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear — this is a school that’s all-in on hands-on learning. Their students are gearing up to build an RV-12 aircraft in-house — yes, an actual airplane. It’s a bold, real-world project that shows just how powerful project-based education can be when students are given the tools to dream big and build even bigger.
During our visit, Principal Rivera and her team climbed into our Edustation Pro, a high-powered yet classroom-ready flight simulator. After a quick walkthrough, Principal Rivera took the pilot seat and completed a full takeoff mission, navigating the skies with curiosity and confidence. While she’s not claiming to be a pilot just yet, she got a firsthand look at how students can apply concepts like physics, geography, and math in an unforgettable, hands-on way.
🎯 Why Hands-On STEM Learning Really Works
Educators at AITE are embracing what many schools are starting to rediscover: students thrive when they can learn by doing. Whether it’s flying simulated missions or constructing a real aircraft, hands-on STEM education sparks deeper understanding, keeps students engaged, and prepares them for real-world careers.
We know that choosing new EdTech is a big decision — especially when every dollar counts. That’s why STEMPILOT offers free virtual demos and in-person visits, so you can try it out before making any commitments. Want to see it in action? We’re happy to connect you with a school in your area that’s already flying with us.
Big thanks to AITE for welcoming us into their inspiring program — we can’t wait to see your students take off, both in the classroom and in the skies! We hope that STEMPILOT is the right fit for you!
